Android Wear App

The Travel Logs Android Wear app, also known as the Wear OS app, lets you track trips from a compatible Android watch. It is designed for fast start and stop actions while the full record review stays in the web or mobile app.

Sign in

1. Open Travel Logs on your Android watch.
2. Choose one of the sign-in options:
   • Enter your Travel Logs email and password on the watch.
   • Select Sign in on phone and finish sign-in from the connected Android phone when available.
3. If two-factor authentication is enabled, enter your authenticator code or recovery code.
4. Wait for the app to sync your account, vehicles, and active trip status.

If the watch cannot find a connected phone, open Travel Logs on your phone and try the phone sign-in option again.

Allow location access

The Wear app needs location permission to start trips and record route details.

When prompted, allow location access for the watch app. Without location permission, the app cannot start a watch-tracked trip.

Load your vehicles

After sign-in, the Wear app syncs vehicles from your account and shows them in the Vehicle selector.

If no vehicles appear:

• Add a vehicle from the web app or Android app.
• Confirm the watch has internet access or a connected phone.
• Tap refresh in the Wear app.
• Check that you are signed in with the correct Travel Logs account.

The Wear app currently uses vehicles available through the watch trip tracker. For assigned shared fleet vehicles, use the Travel Logs iOS or Android mobile app.

Start a trip

1. Open the Wear app.
2. Select the vehicle from the Vehicle list.
3. Tap Start Trip.

The app records the start time, selected vehicle, start location when available, and route tracking details. The starting odometer is based on the vehicle's latest synced odometer value when one is available.

Stop a trip

1. Open the Wear app while the trip is active.
2. Check that the app shows Tracking and the correct vehicle.
3. Tap Stop Trip.

The app records the stop time, stop location when available, route points, and an estimated stop odometer based on tracked distance. You can review and edit the completed trip later from the web app or Android app if details need correction.

Offline trips and pending sync

If the Wear app cannot reach Travel Logs when starting or stopping a trip, it queues the action locally and shows a pending count.

When connection is restored:

1. Open the Wear app.
2. Tap the pending sync button if it appears.
3. Wait for the app to show that pending trips have synced.

Use refresh if the app is showing cached data.

Active trip recovery

If you close the app during a trip, the Wear app keeps the active trip state locally. Reopen the app to see the trip timer and stop the trip.

If your account already has an active trip on the server, the Wear app restores it during sync.

Account actions

Open Account to view the signed-in email address or sign out.

Signing out clears local session data on the watch. You need to sign in again before starting or stopping trips.

Best practices

Sync before driving so the vehicle list and odometer data are current.

Keep the watch location permission enabled for route capture and distance estimates.

Review synced trips later in Travel Logs to confirm odometer, route, notes, trip type, and any fleet submission details.
