Android Auto

Travel Logs supports Android Auto so drivers can manage trip start and stop actions from a compatible car display. The Android Auto experience focuses on vehicle selection, starting a trip, viewing active trip status, and stopping the trip safely from the dashboard.

Open Travel Logs in Android Auto

1. Connect your Android phone to an Android Auto-compatible vehicle or head unit.
2. Open Travel Logs from the Android Auto app screen.
3. Wait for the vehicle list to load.

If no vehicles appear, add a vehicle in the phone app first. Travel Logs shows a message in Android Auto when there are no available vehicles yet.

Choose a vehicle

The Android Auto vehicle list shows your available vehicles and highlights any vehicle that already has a trip in progress.

If a synced vehicle is fleet-managed, Android Auto can label it as a fleet vehicle in the list so it is easier to identify.

Start a trip from Android Auto

1. Open Travel Logs in Android Auto.
2. Select the vehicle you want to use.
3. Review the start screen.
4. Select Start Trip.

Android Auto starts a new business trip for the selected vehicle. If that vehicle already has an active trip, Travel Logs opens the trip status screen instead.

View active trip status

For vehicles with a trip in progress, Android Auto can show:

• Trip duration.
• Distance.
• Start location.

The trip status screen refreshes while the trip is active so current information stays visible on the car display.

Stop a trip from Android Auto

1. Open the active trip for the vehicle.
2. Review the trip status screen.
3. Select Stop Trip.

After the trip stops, the Android Auto screen returns to the vehicle list.

Shared fleet vehicles

Android Auto uses the vehicles already synced to the Android app. If a shared fleet vehicle has been assigned to you and is available in the mobile app, it can also appear in Android Auto.

Records created for a fleet-managed vehicle still follow the normal fleet record flow after mobile sync.

Best practices

Sync the Android phone app before driving so your vehicle list is current.

Review completed trips later in the Android app or web app for notes, trip type changes, fleet submission status, and any follow-up edits.
