Parking Stop Suggestions

Parking Stop Suggestions can remind you to end a trip when Travel Logs detects that you may have parked. The feature is advisory: Travel Logs will not end your trip unless you choose End Trip.

Turn on Parking Stop Suggestions

1. Open Settings in Travel Logs.
2. Find the Tracking section.
3. Turn on Live.
4. Turn on Parking Stop Suggestions.
5. Allow location, notification, and Motion & Fitness access when requested.

Live tracking and location access are required. Motion & Fitness helps improve detection but is not required; Travel Logs can still use GPS when motion access is unavailable.

When a suggestion appears

Travel Logs begins checking for a parking stop after an actively tracked trip has:

• Been active for at least 3 minutes.
• Travelled at least 500 metres.

If the device then remains near one location for about 10 minutes, Travel Logs may show a Parked here? notification.

Starting a trip while already stationary will not produce a suggestion unless the trip first meets the time and distance requirements.

Respond to a suggestion

The notification offers two actions:

• End Trip ends the trip at the detected arrival time and location. Distance and route details are also limited to that arrival point.
• Keep Tracking leaves the trip active and temporarily pauses further parking suggestions.

Tapping the notification opens the active trip so you can review it.

After you choose Keep Tracking, another suggestion is suppressed for about 20 minutes or until you travel another 500 metres, whichever happens first.

How detection works

Travel Logs combines recent GPS readings with available Motion & Fitness activity. It looks for low speed and a stable location, while allowing for small GPS changes that commonly occur when a vehicle is parked.

The pending suggestion is cancelled if Travel Logs detects that you have resumed driving or moved away before the 10-minute period finishes.

Important limitations

Parking detection is an estimate. A suggestion may occasionally appear during a long traffic delay, loading stop, ferry queue, drive-through, or another extended pause.

GPS accuracy can be reduced in underground car parks, near tall buildings, or where the device has a limited view of the sky. A suggestion may be delayed or may not appear in these conditions.

If notifications are disabled, Travel Logs cannot show the parking prompt. You can review permissions under Settings > Permissions Configuration.

Turn off suggestions

Open Settings, find the Tracking section, and turn off Parking Stop Suggestions. Any pending parking suggestion will be cancelled, while the active trip continues tracking normally.
